About the Author

Jonathan R. Warden developed the Seven Stems Method in Malasaña, Madrid, while trying to make Spanish irregular conjugation feel less like a pile of exceptions and more like a regular system. The book is written for learners who want the table, the pattern, and the reason to sit on the same page.

Who the Book Is For

This book is for Spanish learners who already know regular AR, ER, and IR endings and are ready to make irregular verbs reliable. It is especially useful for intermediate learners, advanced review, exam preparation, and self-study students who like visual systems.

It is not a first Spanish grammar. The method assumes you can already read a basic conjugation table and want a better way to organize what changes in verbs like tener, decir, pedir, venir, and conocer.

What Is in the Book vs. Free Online

In the book

  • 132 pages arranged for focused reading and printing.
  • All reference tables, model conjugation pages, drills, answer keys, appendix, and index in one place.
  • Page-to-page flow for learning the method without browser navigation.

Free online

  • Searchable verb pages with interactive conjugation tables.
  • The method introduction and reference sections.
  • The printable drills PDF, including answer keys and a compact method summary.

For Teachers and Tutors

The book works well as a reference spine for lessons on irregular verbs: teach one stem type, assign a short drill, then use the model-verb pages to show how related verbs share the same formula. The free drills PDF can be assigned separately when students need extra practice without buying the book.

Tutors can use the index to diagnose which stem type is breaking down for a learner, then jump back to the matching conjugation card or model page.
